Today God says:
"I know My sheep, and My sheep know Me".

He promises me:
"I am the Good Shepherd, and know My sheep, and are known by mine". (John 10:14)

My response to the word:
Jesus, the Good Shepherd, knows me personally. He knows my name, and He knows everything about me. He said, "As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep". This causes me to proclaim, "The Lord is my Shepherd", and to know that He loves me and will meet my needs. He laid down His life for me. I will spend time today getting to know my Shepherd better.

My prayer:
Lord, you are my Shepherd. I shall not want. You make me to lie down in green pastures. You lead me beside the still waters. You restore my soul. You love me and I love you. Thank you, Father.

Today's scriptures:
"I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. I am the good shepherd. I know my sheep as the Father knows me. My sheep know me as I know the Father". (John 10:11,14 GW) "You were like lost sheep. Now you have come back to the shepherd and bishop of your lives". (1 Peter 2:25 GW) "The God of peace brought the great shepherd of the sheep, our Lord Jesus, back to life through the blood of the eternal promise". (Heb. 13:20 GW)

Quote for today:
The promises of God are of no avail unless you grasp them by faith, plead them in prayer, expect them by hope, and receive them with gratitude. (Charles Spurgeon)

On this day:
On 20th March 1727, Isaac Newton died aged 82. A great scientist, he was also a lifelong student of the Bible. He invented the reflecting telescope and his book Principia laid the foundations for understanding astronomy, physics and calculus. He wrote more theology than science and his favourite books were Daniel and Revelation, concerning God's plans for the future.
