Today God says:
"Everlasting joy shall be upon your head".

He promises me:
"Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away". (Isa. 51:11)

My response to the word:
Everlasting joy! What a promise that is! Joy that never ceases - that is God's promise to me. I will walk in His joy throughout this day, and as I do so, all sorrow and mourning shall flee away. I will keep my heart free from hate, my mind free from worry, and my mouth free from corrupt words. I will rejoice in the Lord. In this way, everlasting joy will be upon my head.

My prayer:
God, help me to walk in your everlasting joy throughout this day. Thank you for your promise of joy and gladness.

Today's scriptures:
"God's kingdom consists of God's approval and peace, as well as the joy that the Holy Spirit gives". (Rom. 14:17 GW) "But the spiritual nature produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control". (Gal. 5:22 GW) "Always be joyful in the Lord! I'll say it again: Be joyful". (Phil. 4:4 GW) "We are writing this so that we can be completely filled with joy". (1 John 1:4 GW)

Quote for today:
This is a land of sin and death and tears … but up yonder is unceasing joy. (D L Moody)

On this day:
